On Thursday 18th April, we were privileged to be chosen for a four part project which involved a trip to Auschwitz I and Auschwitz Birkenau.
We flew to Poland very early in the morning. The trip proved to be eye opening as it presented us with bare facts about the holocaust, unfortunately which people forget too easily.
One of the main focuses of the trip was to humanise those people who were terribly dehumanised, terrorised and brutally murdered during the holocaust and to understand that, although Auschwitz was a place of death, it is not a dead place.
We are looking forward to sharing our experiences with the rest of the school in a follow up assembly.
