Year 12 UCAS Discovery Day

On the 17th of June, Year 12 went on a UCAS Discovery Day trip to Bedford University to look at various universities and post-18 options. Some universities presenting there were the University of Nottingham, University of Southampton, Brunel University and University of Reading. While there, we were able to explore the grounds and interact with many different people. We took the opportunity to collect a few prospectuses and learn about the unique courses that may suit my needs. We gained valuable information and support, especially in how to approach selecting our university choices and filling in applications. There was a range of seminars available on different subjects, such as how to choose a course and university, which many students attended.

Outside, they had marquees and live music. This created a great student-like atmosphere, where we could sit with our friends and to eat our lunch. We were provided with maps and information, which helped us to plan our day. We are very grateful for this opportunity as we were able to improve our understanding of university and how to access the different courses available; it helped us to think more about the future.
