Year 12 Design Trip

The GMS Technology Department recently took a group of Year 12 Product Design and Textiles students to Central Saint Martins in London to view their degree show exhibition. The standard of work exhibited was outstanding. The products were innovative, challenging and inspirational.The trip also gave the students the opportunity to see a range of design related courses in fashion and product design.

Most of our students were able to speak to the final year exhibitors to find out about what had inspired them to design and produce their products. This visit also gave GMS students the valuable experience of understanding the outcome and benefit of enrolling for a prestigious design course that leads to a graduate diploma level and on to a master’s.

The experience has inspired GMS students to aim high in their A2 projects in a range of ways. The department are looking forward to seeing creative coursework designs and outcomes as the students progress through Year 13.
