The Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) oversees all examination boards. They ask that we make you aware of a few important regulations.
- JCQ: Information for candidates – written examinations
- JCQ: Information for candidates – on-screen tests (only relevant for BTEC Creative Digital Media Production students)
- JCQ: Information for candidates – using social media and examinations / assessments
- JCQ: Information for candidates – on your exam day checklist
- JCQ: Suspected Malpractice: Policies and Procedures (this is a longer document – sections 1 and 10 are the most important to understand at this stage)
Here is a useful YouTube clip from the Exams Office:
Exams Office: Instructions for candidates for written examinations
There is a short GMS Policy that all students must read and understand:
Non-Examination Assessments (NEAs) / Coursework
Non-Examination Assessments (NEAs) are part of some courses. The social media and malpractice documents listed above are also relevant to NEAs, in addition, there are further JCQ regulations that apply:
- JCQ: Information for candidates – non-examination assessments (NEAs)
- JCQ: Information for candidates – coursework assessments (only relevant for Extended Project Qualifications)
- JCQ: Information for candidates: AI (Artificial Intelligence and assessments)
Everything listed above is available for reference on the school website under: Learning – Examinations Information – Information for Candidates & Parents / Carers.
Thank you for your support in talking your child through these essential rules and regulations, painful as it is!
