GMS at Heart of Marlow FM

Published 6 July, 2025

Stuart on Sunday is a homegrown GMS Sunday afternoon radio programme. It is presented by Mr Ross and airs every Sunday from 2pm to 4pm. The programme has, at its heart, the students and families of Great Marlow School. Stuart on Sunday brings a unique mix of music, laughter and community spirit to the listeners of the programme.

Broadcast live from the Marlow FM studio, located on the school site, the show was created to give students more opportunities to become involved in radio – and it’s already proving a huge success. Incredibly, after only eight shows, Stuart on Sunday has been nominated for a Community Radio Award: hopefully, this is just the beginning.

The show has been a brilliant platform to celebrate the voices of GMS. Students, parents, carers, teachers, quizzes and games all amalgamate to offer an eclectic mix of energy, humour and creativity to our school community.

Looking ahead to the new academic year, there are exciting plans to involve tutor groups in helping to create songs, jingles, and other innovative and imaginative content. We’re also actively looking for new students and families to become involved – whether that’s behind the microphone, playing a game, or joining in a challenge. Stuart on Sunday is open to everyone in the school community, and the more voices participating and being heard the better the show becomes.

If you’re interested in being involved – either as a family or as a student, please don’t wait to be asked; just drop an email to stuart.ross@marlowfm.co.uk. If you’d like to hear what the show’s like before jumping in, head to the Marlow FM website, click on Listen Again, and choose Stuart on Sunday from the list.

The show is all about enjoyment and offering new experiences to GMS’s community. On behalf of the show, Mr Ross would like to personally thank all the students and parent/carers who have already been involved in making Stuart on Sunday such a brilliant part of the school community.
