Marlow lock and weir is a picturesque part of Marlow. The weir is recorded in the Domesday Book, so it’s history is long and distinguished.
This year, the Marlow Regatta team have challenged the students in local schools to enter a writing competition. All GMS students in Years 7 to Year 11 are invited to write an inspirational piece about this memorable feature of the town.

Our Vibrant Weir
‘Marlow Town Regatta has launched the schools’ creative writing challenge, Our Vibrant Weir. The organisers are looking for writers to bring a creative voice to this Marlow landmark. You could write a poem, a verse, a story or a song. Your work could impress celebrated author and screenwriter, Robert Thorogood. He created the TV shows ‘Beyond Paradise’ and ‘Death in Paradise,
