Admission to Sixth Form

Enrolment Day for External Students 2025

The GMS external enrolment day is on Friday August 22nd from 9am, the day after the GCSE results are published. We are unable to enrol any external students on Thursday 21st August.

How to enrol:

If you attain the required entry grades for the courses at GMS and you wish to join GMS Sixth Form, please attend the enrolment day in the summer. When arriving at the main gates on the morning of Friday August 22nd, there will be signage to direct you to the relevant location.
No appointment is required, but depending on the number of applicants on the day, please be prepared to wait.

Please refer to our 6th Form Prospectus to ensure that you have all the relevant information about entry requirements. For a quick enrolment, it is essential that all grade entry criteria is met.

Please bring a paper copy of your exam results and a form of photo ID. We will not be able to enrol you fully if you do not provide this documentation. You will also be required to complete admissions forms to finalise enrolment.

GMS’s Year 11 students have enrolment priority on courses, in previous years capacity has been an issue for the more popular subjects such as Law, Psychology and Business Studies. It is important, therefore, to re-iterate that attainment of the required grades, for each course, will give you a far better chance of being enrolled onto the courses that you want.

However, should you very narrowly miss the grade requirement for a subjec, we ask that you bring evidence from your school or exam board of how close you were to the next grade boundary. Whilst we are still unable to guarantee a place on any course, it will help ensure our discussions and potential decisions are accurate.

Year 12 Option Blocks 2025

Please note, candidates may only select one subject from three different vertical columns.

Candidates may combine BTEC subjects with A-level subjects, but the T-level Childcare course is a standalone course and may not be combined with other subjects.

Please note that whilst Further Maths is situated in column C, there is some flexibility with how this may be timetabled as a fourth subject.
