Online Safety: A Webinar Discussion

On Wednesday, January 31st from 19:00 to 20:00 there will be a webinar discussion with parents, carers, teachers, school staff and Ofsted representatives about how online safety for children can be promoted.

Everyone knows the Internet is a wonderful place for children and adults alike, offering limitless knowledge and opening up new ways of learning, communicating and gaming.

It is also a high-risk space that exposes children to dangers such as online predators, cyberbullying and sexting. Whether we are parents, carers, teachers, school staff or Ofsted inspectors we all have a duty to protect the children we care about and are responsible for. Please see attached a flyer for a webinar evening session that wishes to raise and discuss the important issue of online safety. The agenda will include: strategies about how to keeping children safe online; how to spot dangers; what to do when things aren’t quite right; and the role we all play in keeping children safe online.

The presenters are Lorin LaFave, founder of The Breck Foundation and mother of Breck Bednar who was tragically murdered by someone he met online, Hilary MacDonald, Senior HMI, Ofsted, and Daniel Lambert, HMI, Ofsted

Please register for this webinar to join the discussion and find out what you can do to keep children safer online. The session will be recorded and available for viewing afterwards.
