On Friday, 7th March 2025, Great Marlow School proudly took part in the Biggest Ever Girls’ Football Day, joining forces with over 5,000 schools across England to celebrate International Women’s Day through the power of football.

With an incredible 750 girls, aged 5-15, stepping onto the pitch at GMS, we contributed to the staggering 300,000 participants across the UK, making this event a true milestone for girls’ football.
The day was filled with excitement as we welcomed a range of year groups, from both primary and secondary schools (Years 3 to 10), to take part in a variety of football-themed activities. From tournaments and festivals to friendly matches, every participant embraced the spirit of teamwork, determination, and pure enjoyment of the game.
A huge thank you goes out to our staff, students, and incredible Sixth Form Sports Leaders, whose dedication and hard work made this fantastic event possible. Their enthusiasm and commitment ensured the day was a resounding success!
To all the girls who took part—you should be immensely proud of your performances. Your passion and energy truly made the day unforgettable! We can’t wait to host this event again next year and continue championing the future of girls’ football.
