Yr8 Parents’ and Carers’ Evening

The Parents’ Evening Online Booking Appointment System is now OPEN to all Year 8 parents and carers. To reserve a timeslot for the virtual Parents’ Evening on Wednesday 30th June, from 4.30pm until 7.30pm, please go online at https://greatmarlow.parentseveningsystem.co.uk/ Once logged in, the following information is required – Parent Surname, Student’s First Name, Student’s Surname, Student’s Date of Birth. A confirmation email to your email address follows, to confirm times. The online appointments close on Monday 28th June at 6pm. Should you wish to make any changes after this, please contact the school office.

This important evening provides a valuable opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and attitude to learning.

To manage the capacity of the online system, parents and carers may book up to 8 appointments with subject teachers. Should there be no appointments available, please add your name to the waiting list for that member of staff; if an appointment for the evening does not become available, the member of staff will make contact with you at another time. We appreciate that limiting the number of appointments you can make to 8, means that you cannot make appointments with all of
your child’s teachers, if you are not able to make an appointment, please email the member of staff concerned to arrange a time to discuss the progress of your child. In the event of any technical issues, we are unlikely to be able to rearrange the appointment that evening, as most teachers will have 39 appointments at 5 minute intervals.

Please be aware that after 5 minutes the appointment will automatically end, there will be a countdown, but it can feel a little abrupt. The teacher is automatically moved to the next appointment by the online system.

If you haven’t used the virtual system before it is simple to operate.

On the evening of the 30th June, log onto the website in advance, and ensure there is a microphone on the laptop/computer being used. Alternatively, use a mobile phone. All meetings are conducted through a web browser so there is no app to download or install.

Please note that some teachers may choose to communicate using the audio function only. We advise that all participants look at the environment behind them when using the video function.
