Wood4trees Project

Year 7 and Year 8 welcomed Neil Butler into school this week. Neil led assemblies on his Wood4trees project, which was launched in response to concerns about environmental damage. Neil aims, with our help, to plant a million trees to help fight climate change!

Founded in 2020, the Wood4trees project was inspired by David Attenborough’s film ‘A Life on Our Planet’ and has the aim of planting a million new trees to help in our fight against climate change. Working with Neil at Wood4trees, we can fight back against global warming and secure a better future for everyone.

Neil will return to Great Marlow in March, when every student in Year 7 and Year 8 will have the opportunity to plant their very own sapling / small tree. The students will take responsibility for the sapling by taking it home in a pot to care for it for a whole year! The trees can remain in the pots that they go home in, they need only to be watered regularly and kept outside. After that year, we will plant these trees locally to create our very own wood!

A big thank you to Miss Tuddenham, DoL Year 8, for this important website update on an important environmental project.
