Yr 9 Citizenship

Students from the Citizenship Department at Great Marlow School have completed a fantastic year’s work in the Schools Linking Network Model United Nations.  Ten students from year nine have been acting as delegates to the United Nations, completing a profile of the country they are representing and a position paper on their country’s attitude towards poverty reduction.  The climax was a grand event: a whole day Model United Nations in The Oculus, Aylesbury Vale’s District Council chamber, with guest speakers John Bercow MP and David Lidington MP.  Congratulations to all ten students who took part so enthusiastically and a special mention to three students who won awards for their excellent participation: Amelia Bojarzin, Poppy Corbould and Rupert Parkes. It has been a great opportunity for them to develop their skills in research, critical thinking and advocacy.
