Eco-Warriors Trip
A dedicated group of GMS’s Eco Warriors visited Spade Oak Nature Reserve with the Chiltern Rangers, on return from half-term.
They experienced working with tree experts, who were tasked with removing some non-native trees to make space for the native tree species to grow. Our students used loppers, shears and saws to take down the trees. Leo Bray was the champion taking down 7 trees alone!
The removal of trees also generated much needed sunlight on the forest floor, to allow the flora and fauna to flourish. Needless to say, all the EcoWarriors saw many birds – a great experience.
