On Friday the 9th June, GMS collaborated with the primary schools of Marlow on the second Eco-Day project.
On the Electricity-Free Day last year, GMS achieved an 18% net lowering of electricity usage: this was a remarkable feat and thank you to everyone who helped make this difference. This year, the challenge was to reach a 25% reduction: an entirely possible outcome if everyone kept a steadfast focus on how and when electricity was used in school, by turning off lights, for example.
Also on the agenda was reducing carbon emissions and cutting out packaging to reduce litter.
GMS’s Eco-Community joined with their wider community to ensure the project was wider than the school itself.
