The Big Ambition

The Children’s Commissioner for England has recently launched a new campaign called The Big Ambition. It’s a new initiative that aims to hear directly from children, young people, parents and carers across the country about their experiences and what they need to make their lives better.

With the approach of a General Election next year, it is imperative that decision makers, policy makers, and Government hear the voices and opinions of those invested in the wealthfare and education of the young people of this country.

The Commissioner wants to hear from every child and young person in England about their schools, communities, family life, and the wider influences that shape their world. A section of the survey focuses on next steps: the hopes, dreams, ambitions, aspirations of individuals for the future.

This survey is designed to target all children and young people. Parents and carers of children in early years settings, aged 0-5, are asked to fill the survey on behalf of these youngsters. Older primary school pupils can complete the survey with the help of an adult. Students in secondary school can respond independently, or with help of an adult.

The Commissioner hopes for responses from a wide cross-section of society. All opinions and feedback will give a comprehensive overview and inform the future direction of travel of education in this country.
