Globe Theatre Trip

On Tuesday 17^th July, the English Department and 120 Year 7 pupils visited The Globe Theatre in London. It was a great day out and an educational visit made up of four acts.

On arrival, the pupils visited the Globe exhibition. Next, they were met and greeted by a Globe Practitioner, who told them many fascinating historical facts about The Globe.

After a lovely picnic in the sun outside the Tate Modern, pupils had the pleasure of entering the theatre and seeing the play ‘Julius Caesar’ in rehearsal. They were amazed by an actor pretending to be dead for at least half an hour! Finally, they experienced an active drama work shop that enabled them to become the characters of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth.

All ended well with a pleasant journey home. The pupils were exceptionally well behaved and were model representatives of Great Marlow School.
