FOGMS Buble and Bubbles Night

Saturday 28th June saw over 130 people enjoy the smooth sounds of Mitchell Buble – one of the countries top Michael Buble tribute acts. We were really lucky that the Art Department, headed up by Ms Sillwood, had transformed the hall with beautiful drapes and twinkly lights for the Prom which was held the night before.

Emma Van de Pant worked her magic with vases of gerberas, candles and table coverings so the scene was set.

As people arrived and grabbed their free glass of bubbly there was a buzz about the atmosphere. Beautiful platters were laid out for those who ordered them courtesy of Debbie Payne & Ali Kolaszynska and people quickly tucked in. At 8.30 the crooning began. Some of Buble’s most well know tracks were on the cards and as he worked the room the ladies swooned.

After a smooth 45 minute set Mitchell took a well deserved break and Debbie and Ali set off selling raffle tickets. Thanks to Ali Kolaszynska for donating all of the prizes!! They were all based around the Bubble theme so top prize was a bottle of fizz and the not so top prize was a bottle of washing up liquid.

People took the break as a good opportunity to recharge their tables with drinks and the bar crew headed up by Rhiannon Bowen Evans were kept busy.

After the break Mitchell decided to rev things up a bit and so the 2nd set saw nearly the whole room up on the dance floor throwing shapes. The party atmosphere continued on with renditions of “New York New York” complete with leg kicking by the chorus line of girls.

Sadly the evening came to an end all too quickly but judging by the faces of everyone involved it seemed to go down very well.

A huge thank you to all the team that made this event possible. We raised over £2000 which will be put to the refurbishment of the school hall. We hope to do another tribute night next year so watch this space!
