Mountain Walk

Victoria Malmstrom, Daniel Ramsdale and Evie Crowson, three AS/A2 PE students have just returned from a four day mountain walking expedition in the Brecon Beacons. The students undertook the expedition in an attempt to successfully gain a grade in mountain walking as one of their practical activities.

The expedition needed to be carefully planned. Most particularly, they had to take responsibility for choosing the menu that would sustain them for the four days they were away, as well as buying the food and provisions.

After a traffic free journey early on Thursday morning, the students had to plan their journey up the mountain and prepare themselves for two nights’ wild camping. Despite difficult conditions, all three students performed very well and showed real determination and a willingness to succeed.

GMS thank Miss Murray and Matt Boulding for supporting the students in Wales and for completing the expedition with them.
