GMS’s Junior and Inter Boys and Girls teams competed at the first round of the ESAA Track and Field Cup. The result was fabulous: three out of the four teams were successful in qualifying for the Regional Finals, which will be taking place in Nuneaton in June.
The Junior Girls and Inter Boys both qualified for the ‘B’ Final, which will be taking place on Monday 16th June.
The Junior Boys qualified for the ‘A’ Final, which will be taking place on Tuesday 17th June. This is the first time a GMS team has qualified for an A Final.
In Round 1, the aim is for an average of 12 points per athlete, per event. Many of our students exceeded this by a long way. Well done to everyone.
Selection for the Regional Finals will take place after half term, the PE team will select the candidates who will go on to represent GMS and these prestigious events.
