FOGMS PTA Update

FOGMS PTA have set an ambitious target to raise £10,000 this year, and they are well on their way to achieving that target.

Last year FOGMS funded:

the refurbishment of the sound system and lighting in the school hall
new equipment for the music department
new kit for the PE department
the new environmental area

So far this year FOGMS have organised the refreshments at the PE department’s fabulous race night, and on 9th October they ran their first family bingo night.

The bingo night was a great success with over 70 participants enjoying some good old fashioned fun, followed by some delicious fish and chips supplied by the local chippy in Marlow Bottom. Many prizes were given away by Mr Ross, the resident bingo caller, who kept everyone entertained with his witty repartee.

So far these events have raised just over £1,000 so a HUGE thank you goes to everyone who has supported them.

Thursday 22nd October is when the Year 7 disco is being held. FOGMS have stocked up on sweets and drinks, ready for sale on the night, to energise hungry and thirsty children who have been having a good ‘boogie’ to the sounds of DJ John Johnny.

The final BIG event of 2015 is the annual Christmas Market, which takes place on Wednesday 25th November. The doors will open at 6pm and the event finishes at 8.30. This is always a brilliant night because there are great opportunities to shop for some unusual gifts. GMS advise you to make sure you put the date in your diary. The food is so good, GMS suggests you pop in on your way home from work and enjoy a hot turkey roll with mulled wine. More details will be issued nearer the time.

FOGMS and the whole school community would be grateful for your support – it really does make a difference. There is a commitment to making Great Marlow School even greater!
