Junior District Championships 2025

Published 2 July, 2025

Great news about Great Marlow’s athletes in this important District Championship.

Impressive competing by our junior athletes resulted in them scoring points in every event: an excellent reflection of their commitment to their discipline, and their confidence in applying skills gained during PE lessons and extra-curricular practice.

Athletes earned team points based on their final placing. Every school entered two athletes per event; individuals competed in either two track, one field and a relay, or two field, one track and a relay.

The only schools to beat the GMS teams were Wycombe Abbey and Godstowe for the girls, and John Hampden for the boys. This further reinforces Great Marlow’s position as the top-performing co-educational school in both the district and the town, now even surpassing some prominent single-sex grammar schools too.

Huge congratulations to

Year 7 Girls – 3rd

Year 8 Girls – 2nd

Year 7 Boys – 2nd

Year 8 Boys – 2nd

Thank you to the PE Department for their dedicated coaching. Thank you to Miss L Porter for this write-up, which showcases the talent GMS students have.
