Battle of the Bands Competition

On Friday, we held our inaugural Battle of the Bands Competition. There was an amazing atmosphere in the hall and the students performing did really well. They performed to nearly 300 people, which is no mean feat. It was a great end to a mad / busy / exciting / tiring week.

Our thanks go to all of the staff who supported us, especially to the judging panel of: Vikki Todd, Deborah Chenery, Frankie Tuddenham, Kat Hunt and Stuart Ross. Additionally to our key stage four and five music mentors who worked so hard to help the younger students, it was getting a touch competitive…

The results were as follows:

In joint third place: Rachel Burlison, Amy Chandler, Ella Goff, Amy Gromark & Jasmine Kisbee with Callum Sparrow, Holly Tidbury, Diana Coleman, Abby Cheney, Mia Escrader, Lauren Goodchild, Yasmin Azad, Natasha Hollis & Alana Grou.

In second place: Lucca Vujasevic, Charlie Webb-Sparks, Jacob Wratton, Omar Tufail & Nathan Rose.

The winners, by one mark, Ellie Gray, Millie Bogie, Caitlin Harris, Rowan Cumming & Emily Dean.

In the last week of term, we are playing at the following:

• Carols for the pensioners tea party / hamper collecting (rehearsal p1 on Tuesday, performance p5 on Tuesday) – list of names as per Late Night Carols email.
• Christmas Concert (rehearsals all day Wednesday and performance at 7pm – all welcome, list of names to follow)
• End of term assemblies on Friday
