Congratulations to GCSE Students

Another set of excellent GCSE results have been achieved by the students of Great Marlow School.  78% of students achieved 5 or more GCSEs at A*-C with 66% achieving 5 or more GCSEs at A*-C including English and mathematics.  These fantastic results follow on from the 100% pass rate achieved in the A-level results last week.

Mrs Wilson, Headteacher, said, ‘We are delighted with these outstanding results, which are the result of hard work and dedication by the students and staff. We are particularly pleased with the performance of the students at the higher grades, with almost half of all students achieving 5 or more grades at A*-B and a quarter of students achieving three or more grades at A*-A.’

Mr Ford, Deputy Headteacher,  who takes over from Mrs Wilson following her retirement on the 1st September, said, ‘These are very pleasing results, with many students having met or exceeded their target grades. The results are especially good when set against a national picture of harder examinations and a drop in overall outcomes.  I look forward to welcoming the majority of these students back in to our Sixth Form.’
