Published 3 June, 2025

The Year 9 & 10 athletics teams all enjoyed success at the District Athletics Championships, which took place on the 21st May at Thames Valley Athletics Centre. Each of our teams were able to continue Great Marlow’s reputation as one of the most dominant schools in the district, with all of them finishing in a podium position.

The Year 10 girls won their competition with 195 points, 41 points ahead of 2nd placed Pipers Corner and a huge 91 points ahead of 3rd placed Sir William Borlase.

The Year 9 girls and Year 10 boys teams both placed 2nd in their respective competitions, both pipped to top spot by single sex grammar schools. The Year 9 boys completed the set of medals, by finishing their competition in 3rd place, with only RGS and John Hampden finishing above them.

With all results combined, GMS once again finished as the 1st placed co-ed school in the district.
