Interview Practice for Year 11s

Published 18 November, 2024

One of our students, Elisa Weise, provided the website with feedback, she wrote, ‘The mock interviews provided a perfect insight into how an actual interview could play out. I found it useful as I learnt what to expect, was given a chance to perform without pressure and was provided with advice and encouragement. This experience has definitely helped boost my interview skills and confidence when applying for the Sixth Form or a summer job this year!’

At GMS we are delighted to offer our students experience in a wide range of opportunities. So, on Thursday 14th November, when Year 11 students participated in mock interviews, it proved very beneficial. Business volunteers played the role of interviewers, asking questions and providing useful feedback to the participants.

The aim was to build students’ confidence ahead of sixth form/college/apprenticeship interviews during this crucial year, by allowing them the opportunity to practice in a safe and supportive environment.

Great Marlow School would like to extend its thanks to the many businesses who supplied volunteers to support with this event including Softcat, British Airways, BAP Pharma, Whistl, FCC Environment, Groundwork South, Salesforce, Balfour Beatty, The Marlow Club, Bucks County Council as well as all the parents who took part.
