At GMS, students are celebrating their GCSE results. On site, there are happy 16 year olds feeling incredibly proud of their achievements and are excitedly planning their next stage in education or employment.
Mr Pendlebury, Headteacher, said, ‘I am very proud of the students that have attained these strong results and the staff that have supported them to realise their ambitions. 21% of all students have achieved Grades 9-7 and 62% of students have achieved Grades 9-5. Our students have worked incredibly hard over their two year GCSE courses and have demonstrated huge levels of resourcefulness and resilience in achieving these results. There is a lovely atmosphere in school today with many enrolling for courses in GMS’s Sixth Form.
Mr Taylor, Director of Learning for Year 11, said, ‘I am incredibly proud of all the students and the amazing results they have achieved. They have individually and collectively worked together for these outcomes, and they should take great pride in the grades they have achieved.’
Mr Pendlebury, Headteacher, wants to acknowledge the great part that parents and carers play in their children’s success. He writes, ‘As I said following the A-level results last week, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the parents/carers of this cohort for the ways in which they have supported their children; without their support these results would not have been possible. Working in partnership is the only way to achieve the best possible results.’
