On Wednesday 1st July, the Sixth Form Centre played host to Great Marlow School’s annual Summer Concert, showcasing the outstanding musical talent of students across the school.
The evening was a wonderful celebration of creativity, collaboration and performance, with students performing confidently both individually and as part of ensembles.
The audience enjoyed a varied programme featuring the Junior Choir, Show Choir, Folk Group, Classical Group, Jazz Band and Wind Band, alongside a range of soloists and small ensembles performing everything from classical works and musical theatre to contemporary pop, rock and original compositions.
Highlights included music by Adele, Oasis, Elton John, Radiohead, ABBA and a rousing Les Misérables medley, demonstrating the breadth and quality of music-making at GMS.
Thank you to Mrs Green, Head of Music, and all the staff who helped her prepare for the event. Everyone who took part are thanked, without them the evening would not have been the success it was. Special thanks to Seb Bullock and Cameron Hankey, sound technicians; Tara Chapman for her work with the Show Choir; plus Andrew Wright for supporting the Rock and Pop Bands.
We are also hugely grateful to all the families and friends who attended and helped make the concert such a memorable occasion.
