On Thursday 3rd April, members of the GMS Interact group hosted a Casino Night for their flagship fundraising event of the year.
With the help of their mentor from the Rotary Club, Jo Braybrooke, students in Year 13 ran a Casino Night.
The Sixth Form Centre was turned into a suave Casino de Monte Carlo, complete with various game tables and a bar run by the kind members of FOGMS.
Instead of betting money, the guests purchased casino chips which represented a certain point value.
There was a choice of game tables such as roulette, baccarat, blackjack and poker to choose from. Once the guests had played their games and, hopefully, acquired more chips, they were exchanged for prizes.
The Year 13 students were fantastic in their roles as hosts and croupiers. Not only did the students run the various game tables, they also taught the guests how to play the games and engaged their clientele with their friendly chat. The atmosphere was happy and positive, with all guests remarking on the conduct of the Interact students and the success of the event, which ultimately raised over £500 for charity.
Special thanks go to the following students who were superb in making this a tremendously great fundraising success: Scarlett Lee, Aayan Eisa, Arran Bligh, Oliver Braid, George Spencer, Ethan Hunt, Jess Rhodes, Jai Burmi, Olivia Letchford, Bryn Crampsie and Alex Bickford.
