National Compliment Day

Published 16 January, 2025

National Compliment Day is on January 24, every year. It raises awareness of the power of a compliment because offering someone a truthfully honest compliment, brightens up their day.

It’s been documented that a compliment, genuinely given, is powerful: receiving one can boost happiness and confidence; giving one is heart-warming — making compliment giving a win-win scenario.

Next week, GMS are promoting National Compliment Day by entering into the spirit of ‘gifting words of praise’ to family, friends and those we meet casually in our everyday lives.

In form time, tutees will be asked to write a compliment on a small card (linked to the 6Rs) for a fellow student or member of staff.
