GMS’s psychology students attended a study day at Zoological Society of London (ZSL) in Regents Park.
Part of the day involved the students carrying out observational research and recording their data using iPads provided by the education and training officers at the zoo.
It was a unique learning experience for everyone, most especially the discovery of all the conservation measures that are in place at the zoo.
The talk on career opportunities, prompted by our careers lead, Maggie Brunt, was very interesting. GMS is grateful to her for giving up her time to accompany the students on the trip.
The staff were very pleased to hear students respond intelligently and accurately to questioning from the trainer who asked about classical conditioning and attachment theory in psychology; their clear answers showed knowledge of classroom learning and consolidated understanding in an important way.
The whole day was rewarding and memorable.
