On Friday 24th January, members of His Majesty’s Royal Air Force Band performed to the whole of Year 7, in the sports hall. The concert they gave was highly entertaining comprising of a range of music, from royal fanfares to The Simpsons theme tune.
Year 7 learned about the instruments being played and the background of the players, which was fascinating; they also learned about life in the RAF. Altogether, the students were given a comprehensive and personal insight into life of an RAF member.
In turn, the Year 7s asked some very astute questions, which showed they had been listening very carefully.
All in all, this was a great event and opened the eyes of our students to career opportunities.
