In Great Marlow there are many students who opt for Child Development T-level and their teachers, quite rightly, are delighted with those who engage with the learning the course offers; also delighted with their results at the and of two years’ study.
From 2nd to 6th December 2024, the Department of Education is holding a T-levels Celebration Week to promote T-levels as an educationally high-quality vocational qualification, because it offers a viable alternative to A-levels as a way forward for both employers and educational establishments.
T-levels are two-year courses that students can opt for following GCSEs. They are broadly equivalent to 3 A-levels and accrue the same number of UCAS points. T-levels were developed in collaboration with employers to ensure that students are equipped with the skills they need to engage in a career they enjoy. They offer a mixture of classroom learning and ‘on the job’ experience with at least 45 days spent on an industry placement with an employer. With a T-level, students can progress straight on to skilled work, higher study or apprenticeships.
Minister for Skills Jacqui Smith said, “This is a top-quality qualification, helping young people develop skills.”
