Mrs Pendlebury is delighted to announce that there is to be a second round of prefect applications: students who are already prefects need not apply again.
- Monday 21st September, 4pm – deadline for prefect applications: application form to be available on website from 11th September 2026
- Wednesday 23rd September – successful applicants will be informed whether they have been allocated a prefect role
- Friday 25th September – parent, carer and student Prefect Tie Presentation (details tbc)
Through being a prefect, students will:
- join the Sixth Form Senior Prefect Team and Year 11 Prefect Team
- be recognised around the school
- support with school functions and events
- have Individual responsibility for a club or activity
- receive rewards for representing the school positively
- have additional responsibilities to discuss on their College/Sixth Form and Apprenticeship / Work applications
Prefects should embody our 6Rs. Ideal candidates show respect to the school and its community, are ready and punctual for their lessons, reflect on their progress and are resourceful in their approach to tasks. They will be resilient in the face of challenges and take responsibility in representing the school’s vision and values.
Prefect applicants should be aware that the role of a prefect will mean a commitment to their allocated activities, representation at school events and various other student leadership roles; their responsibilities, include acting as a role model to other Great Marlow students.
The process of considering the role and their suitability, applying and eventually being successful or unsuccessful in the selection offers immeasurable life experience for the Year 10 students.
