Yr 12: Next Steps Students, Parents and Carers

Published 3 July, 2026

On Monday 6th July, all Year 12 students will take part in GMS’s Next Steps Day.

Year 12 students will be provided with information about post-Key Stage 5 pathways. Work experience week, UCAS Day at Brunel University and mock examinations results will have focused minds on whether to apply for university, apply for apprenticeships, opt for a gap year or seek work. These options can be researched on Unifrog.

A carousel of morning presentations offered by external speakers will focus on university life, accessing apprenticeships and writing personal statements. Later on in the day, there will be a presentation and information from Miss Jones, Mrs Brunt and Mr Hollyman about the university application process and creating an account on UCAS. In the afternoon, students will be given time to explore UCAS and Unifrog to look for degree courses and apprenticeship opportunities.

In the evening is the 2026 Next Steps Parent and Carer Information Evening to be held in the 6th Form Centre at Great Marlow School on Monday 6th July from 6pm to 7pm. Information about UCAS and the application process, our support platform Unifrog and alternative post-KS5 options will be addressed.
