Christmas Jumper Day

Published 2 December, 2025

On Thursday 11th December, it is Christmas Jumper Day. GMS is supporting Save the Children charity. All our students and staff are invited to wear a Christmas jumper, festive top, or a seasonal accessory alongside their school uniform. The school will be transformed into a celebration of Christmas colours in the run up to the end of term.

This important charity makes a huge difference to children’s lives across the UK and around the world, to support it, GMS kindly asks for a voluntary £2 donation.

As a summary, this is how the charitable money is used:

  • £2 donation pays for a packet of seeds to help a family in Kenya grow their own food after droughts have destroyed crops.
  • £160 funds training for a psychological first aider to support children in Ukraine recovering from trauma.
  • Donations are used to pay for grocery vouchers that give children in the UK the food required to thrive and make the best of their potential.

To make donating easy, please use WisePay to contribute your voluntary donation.

Be creative rather than buy: decorate an existing jumper, reuse something from home or find a pre-loved festive knit in a local charity shop. The Christmas Jumper Day website has many craft ideas if you would like to add your own personal touch!

Thank you in advance for supporting this event. With your help, GMS can make Christmas Jumper Day a festive celebration that also brings funds to the many children who need it most.
