For a number of years GMS has operated an eco-friendly prom-dress initiative.
This year, this is taking an important step forward in the introduction of the Prom-Dress Pop-Up Shop. Its primary aim is to reuse donated prom dresses to reduce wastage.
Miss Ashby and Mrs Bennett, who are leading this initiative, say they feel fortunate that they have many beautiful donated prom dresses, in various sizes, colours and sizes. A large number of these still have their original labels on.
On the 12th of February, between 3 pm and 4 pm, the Sixth Form Centre is going to be transformed into a salon for parents, carers and students. GMS sends an invitation to come along to browse these lovely dresses. There may be an opportunity for these dresses to be tried on.
Should dresses need altering, the textiles department can suggest companies/individuals that could assist you with that.
There is no cost involved in taking a dress.
To ensure that we make the most out of this time, and ensure we have the staff available after school, please confirm your intention to attend by completing the Prom Dress Form.
GMS hopes you take advantage of this offer, and staff are looking forward to seeing many prospective customers on the 12th of February.
Grateful thanks goes to Miss Addy, whose idea to recycle prom dresses has enabled this to Pop Up shop to happen.
