This past weekend, in Boston, Lincolnshire, rowing athletes were competing in the GB Trials. Ethan Hunt, George Spencer and Connor Quann were entered from GMS for the first round of trials for GB selection next summer. There was a record entry this year with 213 boys showing up to race, all of whom had made the required cut off time.
Ethan came 10th overall, which puts him in very good position to go all the way towards selection; Connor came an impressive 47th, which again is exciting for a Year 12 rower. George had a little brush with the reeds and perhaps did not experience his best race; at 80th he will need to step on but is still very much in contention to progress on to the next stages.
GMSBC are very proud of all the athletes competing this weekend.
