Good Luck Year 11 as you embark on Revision Leave and your GCSEs

Published 9 May, 2025

Year 11 students are preparing for their examinations, which commence the week beginning 5th May 2025: study leave begins on Friday 9th May.

For health and safety reasons, all students leaving the site during the school day must sign out using the QR code displayed on the A frames in the main quad area.

Please note that once a student has signed out of school, they will no longer be the responsibility of GMS but the responsibility of parents/carers. We strongly advise students to stay on the school site between examinations to maximise their revision and preparation for exams.

Please note that all timetabled lessons will run as normal. When examinations have been sat, students are encouraged to go their normal timetabled room and revise for other examinations. Where possible, students are encouraged to attend lessons but may leave the site after their last examination of the day, or between examinations if there are two on a day.

All students who have an exam in the morning must attend their morning registration period with their tutor, to be registered.

During the school day, if students return to the school site, they must sign back in using the QR code.

From Monday 3rd June, only the lessons of examination subjects that have not taken place will be timetabled to run. Students are encouraged to attend as many of these as possible to continue with the revision process and preparation for their final examinations.

Thus far, GMS has been pleased with this cohort’s commitment to their exam preparation and revision. A small reminder to all is that the best revision is continuous throughout the exam period. Students have been advised by their class teachers where to source revision materials for their subject.
