On Saturday, 9th May, we proudly hosted our first-ever Sixth Form Sports Awards Evening, celebrating a fantastic year of sporting success in netball, hockey and rugby.
Held at Marlow Rugby Club, the evening provided a wonderful opportunity for students, staff and guests to come together to reflect on the achievements of our Sixth Form sports teams. The PE Department succeeded in transforming and decorating the venue superbly, creating a welcoming atmosphere for the celebration.

Guests were greeted with a display of Year 7 school photographs, sparking plenty of conversation and giving students the chance to reminisce and socialise on a lovely summer evening. The food was also a highlight, with delicious pizzas freshly prepared in the pizza oven. In fact, the pizzas proved to be much larger than Mr Goodright had anticipated, meaning there were plenty left over for students to take home!

Before the award presentations began, guests enjoyed a fantastic video montage showcasing highlights from the year. The video captured memorable moments from across the netball, hockey and rugby seasons and provided a fitting reminder of the dedication, teamwork and success demonstrated by our Sixth Form athletes throughout the year.
The awards’ ceremony recognised both individual and team achievements. Captains from each sports team delivered speeches reflecting on the season, before Player of the Year and Players’ Player awards were presented for each sport.
Special recognition was also given through the Sports Leaders Awards, celebrating students who have excelled on the Level 3 Sports Leaders Course and demonstrated outstanding commitment to the school’s extra-curricular programme.
The prestigious Team of the Year Award was presented to the netball team in recognition of their exceptional run in the Sisters in Sport Cup competition and the dedication they showed throughout the season.
The evening was a tremendous success and a fitting celebration of the hard work, commitment and achievements of our student athletes. All those who attended were a credit to themselves and the school, making the event a memorable occasion that we hope will become a valued annual tradition.
