The Great Marlow School Geography Department generates a culture of curiosity, encourages and supports independent learning, offers expert knowledge and fascination about our planet as well as helping students with their short- and long-term goals.

The passionate, dynamic and hardworking department offers lessons that link the understanding of human and physical processes to places and regions; it also recognises the big differences in cultures, economies and environments across the world. Understanding the causes of differences and inequalities between places and people are a key part of modern geography and one we enjoy teaching.

Geography strives to maintain high standards and high numbers at both GCSE and A-level and therefore is a very popular subject at GCSE and beyond. We typically have 5 – 6 classes of students studying for GCSE. These classes make use of the four geography department class rooms we have in A block. The department has a wealth of knowledge from its six subject specialist teachers. The popularity of the subject continues on at A-level where the department has two classes of approximately 20 students in each.
